About Us

Our History

Leveda was formed in late 1988 by a group of parents whose sons and daughters were moving from a state operated nursing home, Ru Rua, to live in the community. The parents wanted to have more say in the services provided. From its outset, Leveda aimed to be an organisation strong on the values of choice and inclusion.

Our Journey

Over the past 20 years Leveda has grown, and we now provide accommodation support to over 80 people in a range of community houses in the north and north east of Adelaide. We also assist over 55 people via community support packages and  respite services.

Our Vision

Every person living with a disability is valued by the community and reaches their full potential.

Our Mission

To provide high quality services, offering choice, support and flexibility for people living with disabilities.

We value and uphold:

We demonstrate respectby actively listening to each other’s ideas and are committed to client, family and staff engagement in our work.

We recognise the uniqueness of each person and aim to provide caringsupport at all times, empowering each person and their family to make appropriate decisions about their life.

We strive for excellence in all we do, challenging each other to think differently and looking beyond how things have always been done.

We are committed to a strong organisational knowledge base and to supporting staff to continue learning and developing.

We value innovation, will explore opportunities and are prepared to lead new ways of doing things.

We acknowledge the importance of balance in people’s lives and make sure there is time for celebration, recognition and fun.

We will be fair and honest in all dealings with clients, families and staff, maintaining confidentiality, integrity and ethical behaviour.

We take accountability for our actions and for progress towards the goals we have set.

We expect all staff to contribute to building a positive perception of people living with a disability and the reputation of Leveda in the community.
