Recreation

Supporting clients to get out and about and have fun is one of the goals of Leveda and as a result operates a Recreation @ Leveda Project to assist with planning community participation and ensuring resources are used to full capacity.

Part of this Project has been the development of a weekend Recreation Programme which involves offering a variety of mainstream community events and activities every weekend. This has seen Leveda’s clients being given the opportunity to make decisions and have more of a say in what they would like to do on their weekends. The Viva Leveda Disco and Karaoke nights are two other regular activities which are organised by Leveda.

Transport and support can be organised for all activities so that people supported by Leveda are able to attend an activity with appropriate assistance. Sharing of resources also enables more people to be involved in their community and build friendships. Many of Leveda’s Community Support Service clients have also really benefited from this Project as shared support is available.

Statistics indicate that there has been a considerable increase in both the number of activities clients are participating in and the range of activities.
