Training

All Leveda direct support staff must complete a Certificate III in Disability with most staff going on to complete a Certificate IV.

Leveda operates a Certificate III & IV Disability Programme with TAFE as our Registered Training provider. Leveda is about to begin a Certificate IV in Mental Health (non-clinical).

A great deal of effort has gone into ensuring that what we want and need for staff to know and be competent in is included in the training. This requires looking at the competencies of the subject and lining up what we require with the competencies. An example of this is Active Support Training. Leveda with support from the Registered Training Organisation TAFE has aligned Active Support training to two national competencies in Certificate III & IV in Community Services Disability, e.g., subject CHCDIS4B, Design Procedures for Support and CHCDIS5C Contribute to Positive Learning. Leveda where possible utilises incentives from Traineeships to offset the cost of training and there is no cost to staff.
