What we do

Community Support Services

Leveda provides a range of support packages to disabled individuals and their families. This includes drop-in support, help in learning a new skill, respite, and recreation, and can occur either in the home or out of the home. Anything is possible. Contracts vary from a few hours to 24 hour support. This is a growing area of support for Leveda. In an emergency, some packages can be provided to assist a disabled person in a crisis situation.

Intensive in-home support and respite

Intensive in-home support is an alternative to a group home. Several Leveda clients receive a service to support them to live in their family home, rather than a group home. Respite enables an unpaid carer, usually a family member, to have a break from their caring role, whilst their family member with a disability has an enjoyable time. Respite may either be out of the family home and overnight, providing recreation out of the home, or in the family home whilst the family go out.

Group Home

A group home is where two to five people with disabilities either share a home together, or live in adjoining units with staff support. Leveda supports clients with complex needs. The staff support is given at times when a person is home, and includes overnight support. The staff ratio is typically two staff to four clients, depending on client need. The homes are scattered as far North as Craigmore and Golden Grove in the North East; Klemzig is our Southern-most service.
